Tours & Activities

The Guanacaste region in northern Costa Rica offers a series of unforgettable experiences, far from the usual tourist paths. Let yourself be tempted by excursions into the heart of nature, to the beach, or among the turtles.

Around the Lodge

Educational Tour of the Farm & Property (5 hours)

Difficulty level: 1/3

Join our guide through the ornamental gardens, taste flowers and passion fruit, and discover medicinal and useful plants of our tropical forest.

As we look for birds and monkeys, you’ll learn about our project and our way of practicing permaculture, reforestation, and soil regeneration.

Rice, bananas, and sugarcane are just some of the crops you’ll learn about, before enjoying lunch by the stream.

Hot Springs, Jungle & River Tour (Full Day)

Difficulty level: 2/3

Just one kilometer downhill from the lodge, enter the biological corridor — a wonderfully preserved and little-known rainforest.

Here, surrounded by rich wildlife, you’ll follow muddy trails known only to locals to reach the Río Sábalo. Build a small dam with rocks and enjoy the natural hot springs all to yourself.

Swim in the river pools while watched by spider and howler monkeys before returning to the comfort of the lodge.

Local Cooking Workshop (3 hours)

Difficulty level: 0/3

Join us in the kitchen and learn to prepare tamales — a delicious corn-based dish wrapped in banana leaves.

Discover how to make artisanal bread, hand-made tortillas, quiches, or cajetas — a sweet made from milk and freshly grated coconut from the garden.

Get your hands messy, then… lick your fingers clean!

Outside the Lodge

The Hidden Waterfall (3 hours)

Difficulty level: 1/3

After a 20-minute drive along rural roads, continue along a trail with stairs while enjoying views of the Orosí Volcano. Admire the waterfall and cool off in its natural pools.

Bahía Salinas – La Cruz: Beach Day (Full Day)

Difficulty level: 0/3

The small town of La Cruz overlooks spectacular Bahía Salinas, home to almost deserted beaches where you can see iridescent tropical fish with just a mask.

Sunbathe or swim in crystal-clear waters in the company of brown pelicans…

Santa Rosa National Park (Full-Day Excursion)

Difficulty level: 1/3

We are close to Santa Rosa National Park, the largest in Costa Rica, famous for its incredible variety of ecosystems:

deciduous forests, oak groves, conifers, red mangroves, coastal forest, wetlands, and savannas.

The park is home to over 10,000 insect species and 250 bird species, as well as large cats like jaguars, ocelots, and pumas, and mammals like deer, monkeys, peccaries, and coatis — especially at the foot of the Orosí Volcano.

It also has a marine reserve where olive ridley and leatherback turtles nest. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lake Nicaragua (Full Day)

Difficulty level: 3/3

A 9 km hike through forests and fields takes you to the shores of Lake Nicaragua, where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the volcanoes, relax on the beach, and swim in its cool waters.
